Picture Poll

Can I ask a  small favor from you dear readers of mine, it will be painless I swear. I wanted to know if you could help me pick a picture to submit to a magazine contest. " I got as much chance as anybody else, right Grandpa Joe?" If you got that last phrase we are kindred spirits. This Gypsy has been on the road and shooting everything in site {with my Canon of course }, which I will share with you once all the home and school activities lull into summer break ....oh yeah it's almost here. Until then help a Mama out because I cannot decide which photo to summit and time is of the essence. Without further ado please pick a pic.

Ariel's Addiction

As Ariel sat prime in the castle enjoying the airs of royalty a sorrow crept, realizing she gave up 300 years as a majestic maiden of the sea she wept. When the realization had begun a former addiction had come undone. Whos its and whats its a plenty and thing ama bobs galore started to fill the halls and cover the floor. Eric tried to reason  but lost it as his core Ariel repeated "who cares, no big deal, I want more!" No being on earth could ever stop her until one day she discovered a rare dinglehopper.

A Sunny Day In San Francisco

In my last post I mentioned a trip to San Francisco was on my mind, and we went! Saturday's Bay Area weather was a beautiful and glorious 70's with light coastal breezes. We started off the adventure by taking the kids to experience Haight Ashbury, which we realized is highly commercialized. I will do a separate post with all the photos. After trippin on Haight we walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, which will be another post with picture overload. After all that walking it was time to wind down and have lunch so we headed to the beach. Baker Beach used to be our favorite but the nudist took over. Our new little cove of the Pacific Ocean is China Beach.

I always leave my heart in San Francisco.

Happy Birthday Janis

I got a chance to stop by one of Janis Joplin's Bay area homes when I was in San Francisco. A piece of rock and roll nostalgia and a chance for me to take a small moment to connect to the past and feed my hippie soul. If  Janis was still living today she would be celebrating her 73rd birthday! So the ballads shall play all day and raspy songs are sung out in your honor dear J.J.

Just For The Record S.F.

On my 36th birthday I finally made the trip to the  Haight  Ashbury  District of San Francisco C.A. All the many times I visited San Francisco we never took the time to explore this strip. The Summer of Love in 1967 happened here and nostalgia of the hippie sub culture and the music created still can be found in the record stores.

The side view of Amoeba Music store from the McDonald's parking lot. Don't expect to park here and explore Haight it is strictly prohibited and you will be towed. Also to use the McD's restroom you must purchase something and then show the receipt to the guard who will then unlock the door for you (seriously).

A quick photo of the store front as we waited for the doors to open. There was a line of about 20 people ready to get their music fix. The record store used to be a bowling alley and opened as a music store in 1997.

This place is huge and the selection of music in all formats was astounding. We bought a Bob Marley & The Wailers record. Our {S} is really into music and received a record player for Christmas so a trip back later in the year for him to experience Amoeba Music for himself is a must.

Bob Marley is one of my favorite musical artist to absorb. His soulful vibes put me at ease and I really dig this photo of him. A lot of nostalgic photos and memorabilia adorn the walls and can be purchased to adorn yours.

Although we did not go into Rasputin Records I still had to stop and take a shot of the bright mural. So many more colors to trip off of ( by the senses only of course) awaited our us on our stroll up Haight & Ashbury.

Just checking in

School has officially started for all four of the children, and Casa Sol Y Luna is silent (except for Pandora playing whatever MY heart desires in the background.) Even though there is four drop offs , four pick -ups at four different school's I think the school year started off well, and I got this.

{ San Francisco Love Tours Bus....wish I had one of my own, maybe one day }

So now that I have the house to myself I realize it is stuffed with so much. There are six of us living in this little humble homestead  and I look around and question "do we use this, do we need this ?" Being the one who does everything around here I realize if I can't keep up with it all and the thought and visual chaos of it all stresses me out , then it's time to purge! Instead of spring cleaning , I'm fall cleaning which is just as important because another turn of the wheel is approaching. This is my mission this week, so if you don't hear from in a few days I'm probably lost in a heap somewhere.

These rocks form a side wall to a cove. I would have shown you a beautiful picture of the secret cove, but nudist bask there { yes even on a chilly grey day in the Bay } photo was taken at Baker Beach, San Francisco, C.A.

Summer Body Transformer 30 Day Challenge Update

Kudos to all you out there who are taking the challenge and working on creating a healthy fit body. Unfortunately for me the challenge has come to a halt about a week ago. The muscles I had damaged before are reactivated again with pain. A soccer injury to my knee in high school is also bothering me. I know what is best for me at this point is to listen to by body and it's not so gentle ways of letting me know this is not the right way to achieve what I was working for. Continuing to care for  my body and health is of high importance.  I hope to get back in touch with yogic practices, and this time I aspire to fully immerse myself into the yogic path for I'm waiting for my nirvana enlightenment. To each his own and a blessing to you to achieve what is most nourishing to your temple.

My daughter snapped this shot of my unknowingly. I'm sitting on a cove overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Baker Beach, San Francisco. My thoughts were casting all that no longer serves me into the ocean, and absorbing the natural energies around me to help find  my truth, peace, and purpose. Working with new moon energy & seeking.

Corner View ~ Motion

It has been quite awhile since I last participated in corner view, and I'm happy to be back in the swing of things. Corner view is a Wednesday weekly appointment hosted by Francesca, where bloggers from around the globe share their view on a pre-arranged theme.

When I heard the theme was motion I automatically thought of the ocean and the lull and pull of waves. The soothing sounds of water are one of my favorite zen acoustics. The video below is from a trip to Baker Beach, San Francisco, California. We went to celebrate my daughters 7th birthday by going to the zoo and capping off the day by enjoying our favorite beach in "The City".To bad you couldn't see the magnificent "Golden Gate Bridge" because the fog had already rolled in.
