SOB Chronicles

The plan doesn't work unless you do. Think about the truth this statement brings up.  Starting with the small conscience decisions to make improvement to your habits. Sobriety is a big key for my transition back to the self I was before. Having my son see me throwing up at the toilet and bringing me tylenol and water made me feel like a complete ugly failure. What an example for children, especially my youngest. That right there was the turning point again, and if we've been blogging family for awhile you know this is not my first rodeo with sobriety. My friends and family who I used to drink with have been really supportive and we still kick back together and have fun. Many thanks to you all, much love. Special props to the Renaissance man who has maintained his sobriety since we first made the decision many years ago.

Every year after New Years day I have my return to the sun. I'm the same age all year! This year marks 40, and milestone birthdays tend to make me contemplate and motivate. Now that I sleep better, the 5:00 a.m. start off the day is a real rise & shine. Once everyone is up and out the door to work and school, it is me time. January was the intro back to diet and fitness, because what you do now will be apparent by spring. And by diet I mean switching up what I eat, and basically cutting out the crap. Yoga has been January's mode of fitness which is good for mind & body connection. Now that my body is used to movement again I'm striving towards strength training in the months to follow because this Mama of four is not ready to hang up the bikini just yet.

I joined Mel Robbins Best Decade Ever and I'm dreaming big. Mel is highly motivating and real with how she connects us the audience which is more a tribe creating a ripple effect already. I have big dreams and damn it I'm doing  the work it takes to get there. We are all worth it right! You only live  once, and with the recent passing of Kobe and his girl, I realize the time is now. Tomorrow isn't promised no matter what rung of the latter you are on, so you better start living that best life. Humanity needs to kick in big time, because we are all just that HUMAN. I want to see you all  succeed in life, so what small action will you take to make the shift that will put those bad ass plans you store in your conscious into action?

Do the work, because my friends you are so deserving of all you desire 💜

Interval Yoga 30 Day Challenge ~ Day 2

Anybody else sore from yesterday's practice? If you don't use it you lose it, and now it's like starting all over to gain the strength and flexibility. My sleep was sounder though with dreams more on the peaceful side. Remember to go with the flow and not get frustrated over not having full range of motion, it comes in time. So here's today's video, don't forget to check into Instagram with your selfie after your workout with #intervalyoga30daychallenge.

Do you do your toes for your yoga pose?

Since us yogis are in poses that constantly have us looking down, why not dress them up. Mine are Sally Hansen Insta Dry 424 Set Sail painted for the 4th of July at the beach. I tend to slip on my mat especially in these hot days , so I was so excited to score these Nike Studio Wraps at Ross for $11.00.

How ever you dress them up or dress them down, take time to fully appreciate how your feet and legs support your body.

Interval Yoga 30 Day Challenge ~ Day 1

So far this Monday is going great. As I was drinking my coffee  checking my e-mails and messages I got a great surprise on Instagram. I had told Ali Kamenova I needed a spiritual change and was looking forward to the challenge and that I might just blog this new venture. She responded with " yes do it! I will share your blog". I was floored and did a little happy dance. The situation got very real at that moment and now it's time to do the work to begin the journey.

I'm starting of the challenge in the beginner level even though I practice yoga on and off through the years. Today will be an assessment of were my physical capability's lay.

The full weeks schedule can be found here.

Bikini Series Begins

Today marks the beginning of Tone It Up's 8 week bikini series fitness challenge. There is a membership option which has a fee , but I chose to follow along with the weekly schedule and eat my own healthy plan, which is free. Since the weather is warmer it's time to break out the juicer and start creating delicious drink combos. This mornings juice is full of citrus and sunshine.

Juice :  1/2 pineapple, 2 oranges, 7 strawberries, 1 lime

Time to rise and shine!

Tone It Up Tuesday

Spring has sprung yay, it's bikini season ugggh! Time to shape up . I'm currently committing myself to follow through with the weekly schedules on Tone It Up. All you really need is access to the web, hand weights, yoga mat, and time to dedicate to yourself. That's right free workouts in your own home, I fit mine in right before I get the kiddos up for school. Bonus....your trainers Karena & Katrina do most of their workouts from the beach, that's  where my mental state has been lately if you can't tell my new blog layout (wink). Here's to planting new goals for Spring.

This pic was from February's #LoveYourBodyChallenge, I'm working towards this goal again .

Full Harvest Moon & Meanderings

Happy Moon day everyone. This morning I woke up to a chill floating through out the house, I did leave the windows open overnight because it was 97 degrees yesterday and we are without ac and my little homestead stays hot all day & night. The crisp freshness I awake to after dream time is really refreshing. My youngest daughter mentioned to me this morning on  the drive to school "your ready for fall Mom aren't you", maybe my attire gave it away.

The Full Harvest Moon is upon us and a Full Moon on a Monday is extra special. Enjoy this video from one of my favorite astrologers Dorothy Morgan to get some insight about how the Harvest Moon aspects effect our daily meanderings.

Today I'm using the full moons energy to start new challenges toward my health & fitness goals. Tone It Up  8 week #Frisky Fall challenge started today and hopefully I will stick with this, if you are doing this challenge also let me know. Tonight I will bask in the moons glow, set intentions, and have a fire in which I hope to receive knowledge to take into the season coming upon us. Do you practice Full Moon Magik?

May you walk in love and the light of the Moon bring your deepest desires to fruition.

Summer Body Transformer 30 Day Challenge Update

Kudos to all you out there who are taking the challenge and working on creating a healthy fit body. Unfortunately for me the challenge has come to a halt about a week ago. The muscles I had damaged before are reactivated again with pain. A soccer injury to my knee in high school is also bothering me. I know what is best for me at this point is to listen to by body and it's not so gentle ways of letting me know this is not the right way to achieve what I was working for. Continuing to care for  my body and health is of high importance.  I hope to get back in touch with yogic practices, and this time I aspire to fully immerse myself into the yogic path for I'm waiting for my nirvana enlightenment. To each his own and a blessing to you to achieve what is most nourishing to your temple.

My daughter snapped this shot of my unknowingly. I'm sitting on a cove overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Baker Beach, San Francisco. My thoughts were casting all that no longer serves me into the ocean, and absorbing the natural energies around me to help find  my truth, peace, and purpose. Working with new moon energy & seeking.

Summer Body Transformer 30 Day Challenge Intro

Summer has been in full swing with all it's blazing glory, and you know what that means right? Welcome to the season of less clothes and more exposed skin. I like to stay fit and healthy in general but it's been awhile since I've really worked out hard. In May I strained some muscles in my left shoulder and back that left me un-able to use weights for almost two months. I'm ready to get back in action and build some sexy muscles that I can flaunt at the beach and water park, seriously I have muscle tone envy of some body's I've seen.

A new 30 day challenge started yesterday called Summer Body Transformer 30 Day Challenge. The workout videos are available each day on YouTube. I've have day  2 under my belt already . I hope that by blogging my progress and some of my meal recipes I will stick with this.  Accountability is key for me to stay strong and motivated. So who is down to get fit with me? 30 days will come and go pretty fast but believe me you will definitely have something to show for it!

So here it is that "here in the now" before pic, complete with mommy stretchmarks and tubal ligation scar that looks like a second belly button. If your doing the challenge I suggest you take a before pic so you can see all your hard work and progress. Here's to gaining muscle tone and getting in healthy sexy shape.

October Overhaul

Fall is officially here and I'm back from a small blogger hiatus. A lot of general everyday housewife and Mommy stuff  has kept me away for a bit. The winds of change are blowing in a month of changes for me. In our family we have a multitude of birthdays, our wedding anniversary, a Quince, and of course Halloween. I want to be able to survive it all and feel great doing it.

I have to confess I indulged to much this Summer and now I'm paying for it. Living care free in the moment with BBQ's, parties, drinking etc...has taken it toll. This is why I know declare October to be the month I get back on track and get back to a vibrant healthy smaller me. I will be blogging about this fitness journey.

I'm tracking my nutrition and fitness at SparkPeople, come and join me in fun and fitness!  As of today I started the 30 Days of Fit Food and Count Down To Skinny Jeans Challenges. I will be posting my 30 days of recipes for anyone who wishes to give it a go. The recipes may be tweaked to my originality and what I have on hand. As for working out I have recently discovered the hyper energetic Cassey Ho. She is so motivating and bonus ...all here videos are available on Youtube! I'm participating in #abtoberfest, catchy isn't it?

Super motivated today, most people are on Day 1, oh yes a whole month to go! I'll keep you posted. Happy new beginnings to you all. Do already know what your going to be for Halloween?
