Flight of the Bumblebees

My next door neighbor's has taken up beekeeping on their homestead, and our fountain has become the local watering hole. I love watching the bees buzz around the fountain in droves , they emit a peaceful hum.  I'm glad we get to enjoy the benefits of these pollinators, as bee populations are in decline due to climate change. Now if only there wasn't a language barrier between us and the neighbors because I would gladly barter goods for fresh extremely local honey.

Have a sweet weekend !

Ariel's Addiction

As Ariel sat prime in the castle enjoying the airs of royalty a sorrow crept, realizing she gave up 300 years as a majestic maiden of the sea she wept. When the realization had begun a former addiction had come undone. Whos its and whats its a plenty and thing ama bobs galore started to fill the halls and cover the floor. Eric tried to reason  but lost it as his core Ariel repeated "who cares, no big deal, I want more!" No being on earth could ever stop her until one day she discovered a rare dinglehopper.

A Rose or Two for You

Hello and good Monday. A splash of color was needed to greet you when you stop by so I vibed it up a little. I also have roses for you. A side note about my participation in the April prompts. You will find a smattering here and there of the Dark Poetry for the Cruellest Month, if you happen to stop by and find something other than the poetry prompt please do enjoy whatever I have for the day to share. Also April Love 2016 is mostly photography that I share here GypsySpirit916 on my instagram. Now back to those beautiful blooms.

All of my rose bushes are in full bloom. The suns warmth brings up their fragrance early in the morning and the breeze carries their essence around my home. I've been making bouquets to enjoy indoors also.

Gathering rose petals for potpourri, lotion and potion making has been on my daily do list. I have collected a huge mason jar of dried petals already. This bowl of fresh red rose petals has been turned into a lovely beneficial natural beauty essential.

I finally got down to making rose water. A pot of fresh water put to boil and the addition of petals left to simmer and then strain was all I did .The recipe is so simple and many tutorials and list of benefits can be found on Google and YouTube. I can't stop spritzing my face and body, this is a refreshing toner for sure. I hope you enjoyed your roses my beauty's and may this week bring about growth and blooms a plenty.

Sleeping With One Eye Open

It's 3:00 a.m, the time which used to be communion with the spirits and receiving of  divine information. Oh that glorious witching hour has become the time of consumption. For as I feed my child the demons creep into my mind. Society, media, those not in the know but with the upper hand seem to have a grip with sharp teeth on my brain. I will not them them rule, I sleep with one eye open, and dear child of mine you must too. If only they knew that with my breast bared  I nourish not only your soul but the worlds, they cannot shake my Motherhood.

hand up always in protest
they will not devour
over ruled with kindness & flower power

Well, I made It to Friday

What a title for a post, sorry if it comes off drastic, it's not. I just want to drop a quick note to let you  know I'm sorry for not making my rounds and participating. This week has been racked with unbalance and I'm just now reaching my equilibrium. I'm homeschooling my son the rest of his sophomore year so my daily schedule has some adjusting to it.  For two days I was laid out due to some random illness. Laying in bed except for being bus driver to and from school drove me crazy, but not as crazy as the chaos the house was in when I felt better and realized "I am the only one who does anything around here". Okay end of rant. I snuck in some time to compose this to let you know I hope to catch up with everyone and everything this weekend.

Chico & I wish you an awesome weekend.

The Gift of Wishes

Here lies before you a birthday dirge
A wish to consume until you splurge
May it be to to all the cake you consume
Or all the hell you raise in the room

Lift your glasses it's time for a toast
To the wickedest writer we all love the most
May this year be full of magic and folly
A dear birthday wish from Holly to Magaly

"Be grateful your not dead" pun on Gratful Dead Art

I do believe this is what the creative mind looks like a continuous kaleidoscope of bloom and grow, and some of us keep it going long after the heart beats and the grey matter solidifies. But today we celebrate birth and life so go and give Magaly Guerrero our host of Dark Poetry for the Cruellest Month some birthday love & laughter!

Happy Feet

Prompt from April Love 2016

The Welcome Mat

Dear Home,

It has come to my attention that the back door should be treated with as much love and respect as the front. Entryways into the pulsating heart of the humble abode should be inviting and also fashioned in such a bold and fierce red. In fresh new hues the welcome mat is placed in it's rightful place. Once your portals are open the magic of Casa Sol y Luna entrances though who are lucky enough to enter. Such is a sanctuary...my home.

Has It Began To Sprout?

That corpse you planted last year in your garden
Has it stirred to life or has the earth hardened
When the mix of elements shall rebirth
Greenman scratches his way to earth

Dear Love

~   A Love Poem To Love   ~

You are the hardest emotion to feel yet necessary to thrive
When emanating at your fullest I'm truly alive with a strive to survive
A main component  in which to lead my tribe

Yet

When your presence is absent all is a miss
Plunging off a cliff into a whirlwind spiral to a dark abyss
To not feel loved, feels like this

But

Love is love no matter the gain
Whether it be filled with pain or in vain
One things for sure love, you drive me insane

NaPoMo 2016

For the longest I didn't know what NaPoMo stood for........ it's National Poetry Month! Being a blogger you would think I'm great with words but most times they fail me. I decided to participate in two online events celebrating the poetic notes of April and the opposition of light and dark. Words they may not always be, what the muse infuses it what you'll see.

First up is Magaly Guerrero's Event

Shall the Love & Madness commence!
