Lucky 7 ~ SOB Chronicles

I've made it to my 7 months of sobriety I started in early December. If I hadn't fallen off the wagon a few I could proudly announce seven years. Can't go backwards , only movement forward into future and in the now success.  The morning started of with me deciding to get back into my yoga practice and  detoxing on a mind, body , spirit level. This revelation came to me at 2:58 am. The roosters are confused crowing so early, or was it an ordained wake up call.

Blue Print of Proposed Routine

Morning Routine:
  • Wake up at 5:00 a.m.
  •  Oil pull
  •  Glass of water with lemon
  •  Yoga practice
  •  Journaling / Blogging
  •  Nourishing breakfast
  •  Outdoor walk
  •  Garden / yard care

 Afternoon Routine:
  • House chores
  • Lunch
  • Office Work
  • Reading
  • Home repair or craft projects
  • 3:00 rest & meditation

Night Routine:
  • Outdoor walk
  • Dinner
  • Clean up / prep
  • Sleep
Just a rough draft schedule for me to follow. A more mindful approach to what I eat and mentally consume via tv, social media and such is on the agenda as well. Of course Mom duties are on there as well. Since summer break from school, we have had a loose routine and spirit lead days. It's time to get back into balance. Despite homeschooling and other chaotic world changes out of my control, I have been able to remain Sober!

2020 Intro

Celebrating 1 month of alcohol sobriety. I'm going to be honest  2020 started off rough for me due to mental illness. I took a trip to the ocean to clear my head and literally was in tears most of the time. I have not nor will I ever take prescription meds for this illness so I just need to journey on like I have all my life with bi/polar & manic depressive disorder. My in-home tribe has been kind, loving, and embraceing. This is nothing new for then anyways this has been their normal all of their life with me as mother and wife. I no longer have the crutch of alcohol to lean on which really wasn't lifting me up in life anyways. I want to be clear and present for every situation and for everybody I come across in my life to experience the true authentic me.... No matter how quiet or how loud that maybe. The glory of this all is I'M ALIVE. I love my family and myself enough to be this ❤️

Interval Yoga 30 Day Challenge Halfway Point

So today is lucky 13 in the interval yoga challenge, almost half way. Have to admit this week has been mentally and physically tough. I've only done 3 days out of the week so far. When I have those days when I  feel I can't or don't want to do, I just don't. Listen to your body and mind, but get out of your head. My mind's been going none stop this week and I just need to slow down and tell it to shut up, and if I can reach that point the silence is oh so soothing. In the past when I had weeks like this one I used to reach for alcohol to calm my nerves and numb out. Just what I needed right, filling my body with toxicity, drowning my power and mentality to heal myself and just deal with sh*t. Proud to say I'm really close to celebrating 7 months of sobriety. Yoga and meditation has indeed helped me stay on the path of recovery

                                                 INTERVAL                       *                           YOGA
an intervening of time & space                 a spiritual, physical and mental practice

A moment of introspect after doing the Slow Gypsy Workout. Take time to pause & reflect.
Namaste and best wishes for a beautiful weekend.

Full Harvest Moon & Meanderings

Happy Moon day everyone. This morning I woke up to a chill floating through out the house, I did leave the windows open overnight because it was 97 degrees yesterday and we are without ac and my little homestead stays hot all day & night. The crisp freshness I awake to after dream time is really refreshing. My youngest daughter mentioned to me this morning on  the drive to school "your ready for fall Mom aren't you", maybe my attire gave it away.

The Full Harvest Moon is upon us and a Full Moon on a Monday is extra special. Enjoy this video from one of my favorite astrologers Dorothy Morgan to get some insight about how the Harvest Moon aspects effect our daily meanderings.

Today I'm using the full moons energy to start new challenges toward my health & fitness goals. Tone It Up  8 week #Frisky Fall challenge started today and hopefully I will stick with this, if you are doing this challenge also let me know. Tonight I will bask in the moons glow, set intentions, and have a fire in which I hope to receive knowledge to take into the season coming upon us. Do you practice Full Moon Magik?

May you walk in love and the light of the Moon bring your deepest desires to fruition.

Summer Body Transformer 30 Day Challenge Update

Kudos to all you out there who are taking the challenge and working on creating a healthy fit body. Unfortunately for me the challenge has come to a halt about a week ago. The muscles I had damaged before are reactivated again with pain. A soccer injury to my knee in high school is also bothering me. I know what is best for me at this point is to listen to by body and it's not so gentle ways of letting me know this is not the right way to achieve what I was working for. Continuing to care for  my body and health is of high importance.  I hope to get back in touch with yogic practices, and this time I aspire to fully immerse myself into the yogic path for I'm waiting for my nirvana enlightenment. To each his own and a blessing to you to achieve what is most nourishing to your temple.

My daughter snapped this shot of my unknowingly. I'm sitting on a cove overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Baker Beach, San Francisco. My thoughts were casting all that no longer serves me into the ocean, and absorbing the natural energies around me to help find  my truth, peace, and purpose. Working with new moon energy & seeking.

A case of the Monday's

I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. I set the alarm for 5:00 a.m hoping to get up and start a new exercise plan for the the month. Not till 6:00 a.m did I pop open my eyes and groan, my husband says "it's a Monday". Now I realize why I love Fridays so much, for me it's the end of the work/school week and into a different flow. Mondays are the jump right into the ocean and navigate, explore, do until you can surface and relax on the island for the weekend (metaphorically speaking). With that being said hello to a new week and a glorious start to summer.

Casa de Sol y Luna has been bustling these days or should I say the past few weeks. The kids will all be out of school in a week and half and I seriously don't know what were going to do over the break. A lot of home improvement projects have been going on to create a backyard oasis for all the summer fun and relaxation. There finally is a resemblance of a garden. later post with pics will follow.

On a more personal note June for me is going to be a month of rebirth and spiritual overhaul so to say. I have a confession to make about my sobriety from alcohol that almost made it to four months. High stress modes and bi-polar resurgence has led me to grab the bottle and try to drink down the insanity.  Sometimes we fall off the wagon and bump our head to realize that the new path we were traveling is really worth the  journey.

I've recently discovered two new souls in which I can connect to and are a new source of motivation and inspiration. I really can't recall how I came across Erin Stutland and the Say It, Sweat It, Get It Challenge but I'm up for the challenge that starts today! The other beautiful lady who's vlog always has a great message right when I need it is Spirit Junkie Gabrielle Bernstein. Maybe these ladies  have something you need in your life right now.

May love and light fill your week and new month with blessings. I'm looking forward to transformation on the highest level.

Introduction to Yogi Cameron's ____the one plan____

Have you ever had a book that you pick up read a few pages put it away for awhile and then  later pick it up again? The same goes for a course of study your so excited to start and then can't follow through with. This is my scenario with Yogi Cameron's the one plan. The off and on with trying to get grounded into this book had nothing to do with it's content, but my own. Until very recently I had my mind clouded often by the influence of alcohol. I wasn't a stumbling drunk or someone who started the day of with it but consumption still consumed me. Why I chose to be toxic in my mind body and spirit I do not know and I will not blame  hereditary alcoholism. There is such a truth I do know and that is  my husband and I have made a commitment to ourselves and children that we will never go back to that which was so blinding. Seems I have gotten of course but it leads me to getting back into the course. I picked up the book again, and now with my new found self I can begin.

Let me introduce you to the one plan.

Overview

What if you could follow a program that, like in so many other books, helped you get results in only a couple of weeks? As with these other programs, you could lose weight, attract more beneficial relationships, and find a greater state of balance in very little time. But what if, on top of all that, the program helped you create not just a fast change, but a permanent one? What if you had a plan that has all the benefits of a short-term overhaul but with the guidance necessary to ensure that it's the last program you'll ever need?
Over two thousand years ago, the Indian sage Patanjali compiled what we now know as The Yoga Sutras, a concise text that forms the basis of everything we know today about the philosophy of the yogic path. In The One Plan, Yogi Cameron lays out a fifty-two-week structure based on Patanjali's teachings as well as the ancient medical system of Ayurveda; it delivers the proven authenticity of an ancient path but has been adapted to take your life in the modern world into account.
As a practical and accessible guide to help you improve your life, The One Plan will provide you with specific exercises and regimens for crafting an effective daily routine, tips and reminders for becoming truly grounded in that routine, real-life stories and inspiration, practical tools for responding to life's inevitable struggles and setbacks, and even a section on eating the Ayurveda way. By following the One Plan, you will live a life of health, balance, and purpose.
Your commitment to the One Plan may last fifty-two weeks, but the changes you make will last a lifetime.

I started this new journey on Monday March 3rd 2014, and I'm excited to share this new aspect of my spiritual awakening with you.
