Snow Daze

Monday January 20th at 6:00 pm the snow started to flurry. It delicately floated about and started to accumulate into a beautiful frosting of white upon the night woods. At 10:00 pm we bundled up and walked a bit, enjoying the crunch and echo under our boots. Tucking everyone in we proclaimed tomorrow we shall all play in the snow ❄️

These photos are from Tuesday , the next morning. No work, no school, a real snow day for everyone! And here I am posting on Wednesday still a snow day for everyone. The roads were still frozen over and too icy for commuting anywhere early, and everything is far from home by 40 min plus.

I have made a variety of soups and Chile accompanied by quesadillas & grilled cheese sandwiches. Plenty of mugs filled with coffee and homemade hot coco mix to the rescue when supply ran out. We dipped our failed gingerbread house walls and shingles in our hot beverages.

The garden greenhouse tunnel was finished just in time, although the lows still shocked a variety of plants, but most will recover hopefully. We did have a burst pipe at one of our spigots which was fixed earlier today. I've enjoyed this unplanned snowcation with my family. And as we hibernate , I'm writing and planning, future harvesting for the gathering . Stay warm and cozy, listen to your ancestors and stay resilient.

23 & Me

Welcome 2023, a New Year and my solar return.
Major Arcana pull for the year #2 High Priestess
I officially became a Nona!

Finally getting around to posting. January has been eventful so far with birthdays and transitions. December and Christmas were joyous and busy with doula care. I'm immersing into new roles that fill my spirit and deep rooted ancestral knowledge is emerging. I hope to get on here more this year and share the journeying forward of the Wise Wild Woman.

And The People Stayed Home ~ Life In The Time Of Coronavirus

“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.

“And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.”

2020 Intro

Celebrating 1 month of alcohol sobriety. I'm going to be honest  2020 started off rough for me due to mental illness. I took a trip to the ocean to clear my head and literally was in tears most of the time. I have not nor will I ever take prescription meds for this illness so I just need to journey on like I have all my life with bi/polar & manic depressive disorder. My in-home tribe has been kind, loving, and embraceing. This is nothing new for then anyways this has been their normal all of their life with me as mother and wife. I no longer have the crutch of alcohol to lean on which really wasn't lifting me up in life anyways. I want to be clear and present for every situation and for everybody I come across in my life to experience the true authentic me.... No matter how quiet or how loud that maybe. The glory of this all is I'M ALIVE. I love my family and myself enough to be this ❤️

Day 3

P.S.A. this is not new year new me b*******. Do not give me any alcohol this holiday season, I am done with all that.  Many of my friends and family out there are probably like" yeah right she doesn't mean it she's been down this road before". Remember that time 2 years ago when I was just five days from 5 years sober and then I went and f***** it up.  Life is great , and I am good , but I want to be better than that , I want to be amazing beyond what I have accomplished thus far!  This is truly necessary for my soul mission & spirit work . Cheers to all of us who are moving forward on our  journeys to our higher self's.

Brain Swirl at Sunrise

It's sunrise on a Saturday morning. Fowl, insects, birds, nature in the trees are humming their tune welcoming a new day. There is a buzzing in my brain contemplating many aspects at rapid speed as I wait for my Bullet Proof coffee to brew.
*
Is this year half over or half begun? Many social media quotes have been popping up with this reminder. My mind wants to start planning, making multiple list for the future. School will be starting up again the last week of August which is next month. I have two teenage  daughters finally going to the same High School, {L} a Freshman, {E} a Junior. My little man {M}will be in the 3rd grade. {S} my adult son who lives in California has a job working with his uncle. Where has the time gone?

Before school starts up again we will take an epic road trip with our family and extended family on our bus. Gran Abuela, Abuela & Abuelo, us grown children, and our children,(who reside in Texas) will share stories and make memories that will span the 4 generations into the next. I miss our West Coast beaches, but I am promised white sugar sand , and emerald waters. Living in the West all my life, then moving to the South, we are traveling to the East Coast. There will be some Cajun bayou fun in the mix as well.

The garden is coming along as best it can. The heat, soil, and water are iffy components, but some crops have survived and thrived. I've harvested and enjoyed tomatillos, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, strawberries, and onions. Herbs are picked as needed, garlic and ginger as well. I may continue a late summer crop, I need to amend and rework some beds. As time goes by so will my experience and knowledge of the seasons out here. Many adventures are ahead and I look forward to sharing them with y'all.
