Oh yes I must admit I love "Goodwill Hunting", I am a self proclaimed Thrift Store Diva and have been since birth. Okay maybe that last part since birth can be credited to my Mom. Funny how people have shows now for doing the same thing I've done for years. So I got an itch one morning, actually it was a reaction to me opening drawers and looking in the closet and shouting " I have nothing to wear"! I have clothes of course but nothing I'm excited about. And Fall starts this weekend right? Off to the thrift store we go. I was originally going to treasure hunt at a Goodwill Industries but remembered that Halloween is in full effect and they seem to make anything a costume item and mark up the prices. I tried out a newly opened Pacific Thrift Shop. A small store that was quite and not crowded so I could take my time looking through the racks. Here is my new fall wardrobe additions.
Grand Total $28.00 !!!
*I'm hoping to score Gypsy skirts and boots on my next shopping trip.
Ahh lovely Mr. Bones used to be a full body skeleton who would adorn my lawn year after. Weather conditions and my dogs curiosity are why he's just a head now. He's had a transformation.
I whipped out my handy dandy glue gun found some autumn items at the bottom of my Halloween stuff and tada.... Mr. Bones is now Frida. Her eyes are from a pair of sandals I wore out. I usually don't decorate till Falls official return and were almost there!

Summertime is still blazing here in Northern California. This recipe is one of my new favorites I concocted recently and am definitely keeping around. This bowl is light and very filling at the same time.
3 tbsp coconut oil for sauteing
1 garlic glove chopped
2 green onions diced
1 cup couscous
1/2 cup chopped broccoli florets
1/2 cup chopped cauliflower florets
1/2 cup shredded carrot
salt and pepper for taste
a pinch of oregano
How to prepare Couscous
in a medium saucepan bring to boil 1 cup water and 1 tsp of coconut oil
add 1/3 cup dry couscous to the water
cover and remove from heat
let sit 5 minutes then fluff with a fork
add remaining coconut oil to a warmed skillet or wok
toss in the garlic and green onions, saute for about 2 minutes
add broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot to the pan and cook about 3 minutes stirring often
season with salt and pepper
top of with oregano
add couscous and veggies to a bowl
mix it all up and enjoy!
