What's Up Wednesday

Happy Humpday everyone. Sorry I don't have a Haunted Humpday post this week. My mind is in a swirl of emotion and focus is on other awakenings. I'm working on my sobriety again. I almost made it four months on my last attempt. I made my mind up to get back on the wagon yesterday September 2nd. So yay I'm on day two of sobriety from alcohol. An email this morning from Recovery 2.0 had a link in it to this website IN THE ROOMS, I joined this support site in hopes that a community of collective souls going through the same thing will be helpful.

Later this month, CBSNews.com in association with Recovery 2.0 will be launching the 14 Days on The Wagon challenge. The initiative is a challenge to all people across the U.S. to go “on the wagon” from September 15-September 29 to bring awareness to what it means to live free of alcohol and recreational drugs, to create solidarity with people who struggle with addiction, to spotlight the addiction problem and also to inspire people to greater health and wellness in general.

{disclaimer: this is not my Groovy Ride, I have a habit of photo oping with one any chance I get. I believe I'm destined to own one, got a Volkswagen bus you need off your hands?}

May you all find inner peace and guidance along your journeys. Let's see where this caravan is headed and what adventures lay ahead.

~ NAMASTE ~

  2. Staying sober for 4 months and then having a bout is normal and not something you should fret about. You know the two steps forward, one step back thing. I know cold turkey works for many people, but I've never been a big believer. You are doing very well, don't beat yourself up.

  4. Thank you for sharing this Holly. I love the honesty in this.

    Yin Yoga gave me the permission to be still and with myself for a change as I was going through sobriety as well.. There's that 'void' we feel like we have to fill, right ? It's that 'ugg, what am I going to do with myself NOW!!?". Try to fill it with YOURSELF :) This is where all the strength, beauty and happiness lives anyway. If we are ready to listen... . Not in a bottle (or other). The answers are all here, inside us all. I now teach yoga and get to bring this beautiful gift to all in need, some who didn't realize it would be their medicine..

    While I teach and practice both Yin and Hot Vinyasa at a drug and rehab center as well as large gyms and studios here., I love what Yin brings to the spirit and soul, when you are ready to let it. ... . I'm opening a site soon that will bring Yin Yoga (deep, long held postures) to your computer, for free, forever. All you need to do is sign up using an email. I'd love to have you be a part of that class. The benefits of Yin, without having to leave the comfort of your home.. www.namazteyoga.com (site still in progress, it's not officially LIVE yet, but I didn't want to lose this chance to share it with you.)..

    I'm actually going to Tommy Rosen's (recovery 2.0) retreat next month in Esalen! I'm so excited!!

    Proud of you Holly, we're only human afterall :) Roll out the mat, when you are ready. Namazte.

    1. Thanks for the beautiful words Jason. I'm really excited to check out Yin Yoga when the site is up. Your words are just what I needed during a rough day. Sorry I took so long to correspond. Have fun at the retreat, may it be soul inspiring. Can you let me know when namatzeyoga is ready?
