Of Stars & Scars

We are stars wrapped in skin, the light you are looking for has always been within - Rumi

The body is a map of history with stories along the way just as  the constellations in the sky. Perhaps when our light becomes so intense at times our luminosity must burst through. Or perhaps there are moments in life when we are no longer bright and darkness must be removed. The evidence of emergence results in scars. The scars then become undulations on the map that show the trails of what we've been and compass our celestial being to continue to journey forth. As above, so below, forevermore we shall glow.

This art collage was created using one of my outdated Witches' Calender's by Llewellyn. Crafted under the influence of the Hunter's Full Moon  in Taurus, and just in time for the blog party.

* As we let our flames burn bright let's also remember to let our beautiful freak flags fly. Life has a tendency to put us through the ringer from time to time ,but here we all are collectively sharing our beautiful madness, we're all stars now of the freak show!Click the banner to be transported to the party realm!

  1. Good morning, Holly. I know that I have been put through the wringer several times over the years. It is just a matter of forging forward to find out where we belong.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana

  2. Elegant collage work. It suits the words perfectly. I love the luminous colors here too.

  3. Oh gosh this is absolutely stunning 😍 love the collage and resonate deeply with the opening line ❤️

    1. I'm with you. I love the into very, very, much.

  4. You reasoning for the existence of scars (for the skin's almost need for them) is very intriguing. I like the idea of scars from wounds we can't avoid because a door for darkness and hurts to escape, that is very uplifting... And we get to bedeck all those doors and windows and cracks and make them into more, take care of them... so that our darkness can leave whenever is too much... or come back if we needed.

And just so you know, the visual art is making me want a 2019 Witches' Calendar, lol!

Thanks so much for contributing to the BFF2, Holly! ❤️

  5. Beautiful amazing work, words and art,

  6. The collage is beautiful, but your intro is exquisite. I love it!

  7. The collage is absolutely fabulous, and the tale that accompanies it fills me with starshine.

  8. Your collage is beautiful, and I love the connection you've made between the scars on our bodies and the map of star constellations in the sky!

  9. Beautiful collage, wonderous words!

  10. I love this, the artwork you did, made me think of when doing a collage you take something and give it new life, like stitches that become scars, and something isn't what it 'was' it now looks different, improved, and tells another story... it gets an 'extra' life... great post ❤️💕

  11. Your words are so beautiful, profound and magical... and have deeply stirred my soul...thank you for that...and for shining such wisdom and bliss ( just what I needed today)!
    Gorgeous collage! Love it!

  12. Beautifully written Holly! I love this post! I love the artwork you did too! I am so happy everything is working well for you working at the festival! Shining our light, while serving others, is what we are here for! Spreading the love! Keep it going! Both of us worked through some of our fears! Big Hugs and Happy Halloween!

  13. Lindo texto, a vida é assim com cicatrizes para nos tornar mais fortes e resistentes na vida.
