Mother's Day Weekend in the Woods
Wow the weekend is almost here again. Last Thursday I was scrambling around getting our camping equipment and all necessities packed and ready to go for our first camping trip of 2015. Even though it rained the night before we still headed out Friday morning to Orchard Springs Resort.
The up and down road that leads to the campsite is beautiful with country scenery and wildlife.
We camped at tent site 270 , a nice spacious site with the basic camping amenities. R.V. sites and a few cabins are available also .
We all worked together to set up camp and then got to enjoy our home away from home. I grow up camping and love sharing this pastime with my own little tribe.
Surprisingly even though we are in extreme drought Rollins Lake has ample water, and oh what beautiful scenery. This is a view from the N.I.D. overlook.
It seems during the week construction was taking place. {M} is in love with tractors and was excited take a photo op.
The woods are full of Pacific Madrone trees. We dubbed these chocolate trees because they are so rich in color. The way the branches twist is a wonder in themselves.
A stream runs through the camp. A little cross bridge is located below cabin camping up on the hill.
We followed a little off the beaten path trail and found this cave. At first it seemed a little creepy, a big open mouth cave in the side of a dirt compound facing the lake. Bears perhaps? Later Internet research proved to be an old mining shaft created by hydraulic mining. In the words of Huell Howser" that's amazing
California Gold".
California Gold".
Rollins Lake really is beautiful, here's the view from across the cave.
I really enjoyed my Mother's Day weekend in the woods and look forward to camping here again. Orchard Springs Resort campground is family & pet friendly if you wish to visit. The store however is closed, temporary or permanent I am not sure. Rentals for the lake other than your own boating also wasn't available at our visit, this could be due to off season. If you happen to visit and spot me and my tribe don't hesitate to say hello.

Corner View ~ Mix & Match
Yesterday evening my 14 yr old son had a summer job interview which was held at a community center in Natomas. We arrived a bit early so we took a stroll through this beautifully fragrant Rose Garden.
More Mix & Match can be found by visiting Fuoriborgo.

Corner View ~ Bright
When darkness is illuminated and brought into the light the transformation can be bright. So how about the future, what may we change this Earth Day to continue to nurture our universal mother?

Corner View ~ Once Upon A Time
Once upon a time a women sat on her back porch drinking coffee and soaking up early morning sun. She peered across her vast landscape and dreamt of a garden. A garden which would bring her great serenity and nourishment. The plot seemed desolate and void of growth as if the only blooming would occur inside the daydream.
Actions speak louder than words and images the mind creates. February brought with it Spring in Northern California, no time to waste, the work needed to produce the daydream must commence. When the hard work to create is done you must have heavy doses of patience.
What was an "Once upon a time" thought over warm coffee and early morning pondering, became the stuff my dreams are made of. I finally got my little white picket fence too! As of this morning my tomato plants have tiny green orbs and I can't wait to take that first juicy bite ripe off the vine.

Bikini Series Begins
Today marks the beginning of Tone It Up's 8 week bikini series fitness challenge. There is a membership option which has a fee , but I chose to follow along with the weekly schedule and eat my own healthy plan, which is free. Since the weather is warmer it's time to break out the juicer and start creating delicious drink combos. This mornings juice is full of citrus and sunshine.
Juice : 1/2 pineapple, 2 oranges, 7 strawberries, 1 lime
Time to rise and shine!

April Love
I can't believe that I completely forgot to do a post about Susannah Conway's April Love 2015 Challenge. Better late then never.
So far I have been participating on Instagram #aprillove2015, a link to my account can be found on my sidebar. The calender is also great as a blog prompt for daily love posts. We have reached day 10 already! This month sure is flying by.
Day 10 : My Superpower
According to my 4 yr old I have boots with springs to leap high over buildings. My hair is in a ponytail so it doesn't block my view. My super power is overcoming obstacles, being on top of situations with clear vision.
I hope everyone has an awesome Friday and the weekend holds some adventures.

Corner View ~ In Bloom
These photos of flora & fauna were taken inside the "Butterfly House" at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Vallejo, C.A. The conditions inside are a very humid and tropical habitat.
{M} loves exploring the "Butterfly House" and were inspired to make or own butterfly garden...still in the process on that project.
