Purple Rain

Talk about Friday night lights! Thunder and lighting provided quite the light show over many parts of Texas last Friday evening. All my life I have been waiting for that moment when I would capture electricity in motion, and it has arrived. The storm lasted for about an hour, and then concluded with  golfball size hail! Luckily no vehicles were damaged, and the garden was unharmed.

I used to have an intense fear of thunder & lightning. Throughout childhood and into my teens I would run to my mothers bed or need to huddle down with someone. As an adult I was still frightened. California storms are mild compared to all the storms we experienced here thus far. I now enjoy the energy that comes along with the sights and sounds. I can proudly check mark that as a fear I have overcome. Sending strength of all sorts to everyone riding out life's storms 💜

Easter Flashback

Welcomed to my one week delay of sharing our Easter festivities. We greet you at the red door adorned with a spring wreath I created from vines in my yard. The rest of the decor is hot glued items from the Dollar Store I had in a closet. The Ostara dreamcatcher was created last year. My hope for this week is that my creativity comes back to me, I have an intense need to create. Below are some of our Easter Sunday traditions.

Dying Eggs

Hard Boiled

Doubled Eggs

Egg Hunt

Dog Egg Hunt

New Picnic Table

Our Governor has declared all Texas schools will remained closed the rest of the school year. We are working on making the Sanctuary a Summer Camp type feel of homeschool.

Mind over Matter - Matters of the Mind

Don't dull your own shine
Move bitch , get out of the way
today is not tomorrow, and tomorrow's  not yesterday

Wednesday's words of worry and wisdom. My morning intentions were originally not on a mind poetry post. There's  a pile of everything laying around ready to be cleaned up. Last night I went to read a book and the words were blurry. My vision was impaired and then the headache and slight numbness came about. I've had TIA stokes before, and the cause is still unknown. With the help of taking Motrin right away , it subsided and was not a full blown episode. I couldn't fully enjoy the Super Pink Moon hanging in the sky going in between luminosity and dreamscape cloud covers. The mind has a way of shaking you up when you least expect it, by literally shorting out your circuits. Maybe the moon was helping to rewire my progression into the 5th dimension.

Self confession time. I get in the way of my own moments of greatness every single time. The fractured young girl inside me reverts to thoughts of  putting myself out their creatively and wanting to have friends and being rejected in some form. There are a myriad of projects tucked into nooks all over the house. Soul work that needs to be shared with the collective. But I dull my own shine, I'm in my own way, for today is not tomorrow.......and tomorrow's not yesterday.

Mushroom Walk

We have many paths at the sanctuary, and each one reveals many wonders during the seasons of the year. Spring has brought it's chorus and bloom ! Homeschooling now has brung back the photographic studying in all of us especially {M}. The camera is with us when we go outside more often......reminds me of the good ol days at Astoria. But now we have acreage full of life. Texas weather is bi-polar, and the warm rains produce Mycology mysteries for us to discover.

UNKNOWN - POSSIBLE AMANITA

TRAMETES VERSICOLOR - TURKEY TAIL

TRAMETES LACTINEA

Both the Trametes can be used medicinally, dried out, ground, and made into tea. The white mushrooms we obviously left alone. We will delve into more depth of nature's medicine another time. Sending love & light for a beautiful weekend of discovery from your safe places.
