Kitchen Renovation

BEFORE
This kitchen was in need of an extreme bleach scrub down after the home's two sides were seamed together. It came with previous appliances that hadn't been used in awhile, imagine the stench when we opened the moldy fridge. If you haven't been following our home story, this was a repoed trailer we purchased and had set on our land. The middle picture shows laminate faux wood floor connecting to the dining room with no flooring but base boards. I wasn't digging the homemade island /table combo in the middle of the kitchen so that had to go.

AFTER
Our kitchen renovation started by painting the preexisting blue walls Nova White. All major appliances were replaced with a stainless steel matching set. The island was removed and the hubby laid down Silver Oak hardwood laminate flooring. This kitchen has many cabinets and drawers, the rustic door opens to a pantry. So much space!

Here's my view from the kitchen into the dining room and living room. I can work in the kitchen and interact with family when they visit and fill up the rooms. The open space is pretty fluid flow with no obstructing walls, and I enjoy the unique peek a boo opening.

And then there's the view out of the kitchen window. Birds and nature abound outside the frame as I wash dishes and tend to my indoor garden starters. I hope you enjoyed the first installment of our home improvement projects. More room renovation will follow in the week.

A House Divided

This post is long overdue, I wished to share our move earlier but needed time to go retrieve photos and find the time. We have been here in Texas for 8 months now. Here's the low down of truly being blessed and having divine timing when it came to our land and then home purchase in the same day! The land purchase story can be read here. We had land but now we needed a house. Putting trailers on land is a very common thing here in the wooded part of Texas. We loved the 2 acres , trees , pond, space. So we bought a repo off a lot a few hours after we went to the little oldschool downtown tax assessor office and payed for our land. I'm amazed we secured our next home in less than a month since we sold our home in California. The house was delivered in mid December. That yellow machine was hand operated by the man in the second picture and positioned by remote control! Being a repo this made our new home our first Texas Fixer Upper. Oh but y'all  {okay no I have not developed a southern speech, I do it for emphasise 😉 }know how much I'm down for the home improvement challenges. Oh and this one was a doozy, but it was necessary to have a livable habitat for the tribe. Stay tuned for our before and afters.

Of Footballs & Pumpkins

Yes the countdown has begin, it's 100 days till Halloween ! We are soon transitioning into a new month and with the beginning of August comes football season. And hopefully with all this will come a cool down of the weather, okay I know that is not going to happen Texas is hot as hell. We are are Oakland Raider fans and they are not playing any Texas teams this year so no stadium fun for us.

Okay enough about Football as Morticia is lovely implying. I have to get a jump start on Halloween and fall decor because I didn't get to decorate or celebrate as usual last year because we were selling the house. Since I couldn't transition into the witchy flare everywhere, I gave it to my sister in law to throw her Hallow Birthday Bash, and said just bring it back when you move to Texas. She wont be here for many moons so I must start anew. A new dollar store opened up in town, and believe me that's big in these parts. We are in the woods and travel a few country miles to get to any retail space. But on the plus craft time is a must. When Halloween creations and ideas pop up so early in the blog , do not be alarmed...... be inspired.

Passions a Plenty

Disclaimer: I am one trippy little hippie but I do not trip on shrums. I do however believe if the spirit leads me to go on that quest , my brain pattern will be recovered and recalibrated to a brighter path. This sketch however captures my spirit, and my perky nose.

New bloggery is at foot as I'm  participating with a circle of friends in a revolutionary rediscovery of just being. "Trinkets And Armor" was created by the headmistress Magaly Guerrero. After you enjoy my post , go check out her wicked smile and inked heart felts. This weeks addition is "What's your Passion"?

I asked the members of my household what do you think my passions are , what do I truly enjoy doing? The Renaissance Man responded with "making poison, uh no I mean making potions", he laughed in reference to my wild crafting and herbalism. He went on to say I pick up nature and use it for decor, healing, magic, etc. {E} my eldest daughter said my passion was making things, crafting, upcycling, and hoarding objects for future projects. My daughter{L} response was cooking and creating new foods from different health aspects and cultures. And my sweet hearted young son {M} answered family time spent traveling, and the beach, "Oh Mom you love the Ocean, and taking photo's of wild nature". And yes they pretty much picked up on my many Passions.

A new found passion that has bubbling up for me in the past few years is home organization and decor. This includes indoor and out. Imagine I come to your home for a visit and the first session we have a platica ( a heart to heart conversation ). I get a feeling for your vibe, and the next time we literally clear the clutter of life no longer needed. With your pieces of memories and necessities remaining, we then rearrange your living spaces into beautiful flows of your everyday life. I believe this skill helped me sell my last house and transformed our severely damaged repo trailer we bought as our new home. Just a thought, I can help with transformation of mind, body , and spirit. Because spirit is passions in motion, and don't let anything dull your shine. I'm off now to visit your passions in your sacred space.

A Glimpse of Home

Home is where the heart is ! Here is a view from the kitchen looking into the living room, and dining area. This home was a complete renovation project or should I say our first Texas fixer upper. Stay tuned for before and after pics. I can't believe we have been living here in our new home for half a year already, time sure does fly by.

Some heart bits from my Mama soul . I'm grateful that my eldest son was able to visit us for a month and I had all my kids for some of summer break. We took him to the airport yesterday to go back to Cali and I'm all sorts into my feelings. Next time I see him , he will be an adult! Life must progress forward and journeys need to be continued.

I wish you all splendid activities in the seasons and weather in your corner of the globe❤️
